- For the Luau or Big Kahuna (Deluxe) Parties – Pizza will arrive 1 hour after the start of your party (ex. If your party starts at 1pm the pizza will arrive at 2pm). Once your party is called back to the room, the first 20-30 minutes is when pizza and drinks are served. About half-way through, your party host will coordinate with you for taking pictures with the birthday child(ren) and cake before everyone sings happy birthday and candles are blown out. Your party host will take care of cutting and serving the cake. We find that with the time allotted for food and cake there is very little to no time at the end for opening gifts during the Luau and Big Kahuna parties. As such, gifts are typically loaded to a cart after the party for the birthday child(ren) to open later at home.
- For the Aloha Parties – Since there is no food included in this party package, you have the option to adjust the time that your party is called back to the private party room. If you elect, you may allow your guest extra play time before being called back to your private party room for cake and/or cupcakes (ex. If your party starts at 1pm you can play until 2:30pm and call everyone back for the last 30 min for celebrations and cake in the party room). Or you may elect to enjoy the full second hour in your private party room to celebrate with cake and have time to open presents within the room. Please feel free to discuss your preference on time spent in the private party room with your host.

You are more than welcomed to come to Molokai’z to celebrate any special occasion without a booked party reservation, however please keep in mind that if you do not have a booked party reservation you would not be able to bring in a cake/cupcakes or other outside food/drink, or decorations, and you would not have a private party room for your celebrations. Those privileges are only permitted for booked party reservations.
In addition to the cost of admission, the party packages also include costs associated with use of one of our 100% private party rooms for a full 2-hour duration of your party, paperware and serving ware (e.g., plates/cups/utensils/etc.), food/drink/goodie bags/tokens (if included with the party package), and a dedicated party host(s) that will assist with everything from setting up decorations, party announcements during the party, getting the food/drinks set up in the room, serving all your guest food/drink, helping with the birthday celebrations (e.g., lighting the cake, singing), cutting and serving cake/cupcakes to all your guest, and all clean-up efforts after the party to allow you a stress-free celebration so you may equally enjoy the party experience with all your guest.
There are no hidden costs to you with any of the party packages. The party packages include up to 10 kids and up to 20 adults, additional charges per person apply beyond that and are disclosed with the party package pricing. If you wish, there are additional food/drink/token/goodie bag options that you can add on to your party reservation and prices are listed with each item so you may consider it before selecting. There is no sales pressure involved, we want to make sure your party experience is a pleasant one from start to finish.As with most everything, sales taxes do apply to the party packages and are automatically added at the end of the bill. At the end of your party when you are closing out your bill, you will be asked if you would like to leave a tip for your party host(s). You are welcomed to leave a gratuity (tip) for your party host(s) to show your appreciation for all their services and hard work during your party; however this is not a requirement and there is no pressure or set amount, it is completely up to your discretion.
We highly recommend that all your guest complete their waiver before coming in to allow for a smooth check-in process and reduce any delays in joining your party. They can complete their waiver by visiting our website www.molokaiz.com and clicking on the waiver link found on the home page. They may also complete their waiver at one of our terminals located in our reception area when they arrive but they will not be able to check-in until their waiver has been completed and is in our system.Waivers are required for all guest under 18 years old regardless if they are playing in the play structures or not. Adults that intend on exploring through the structures should also have a completed waiver on file.
Guest that will be exploring and playing in the structures or walking anywhere on the foam matted flooring in front of the structures and in the toddler area must wear socks, shoes and bare feet are NOT permitted in these areas. Guest wearing pantyhose/stocking will need socks on, thicker tights and/or knitted tights are okay. Guest that are not entering into these areas may keep their shoes on, shoes are permitted in the hard surface areas (e.g., party rooms, café area, etc.) and arcade area; however please keep in mind we do not allow bare feet in any area of the building regardless of age.
Absolutely! Our structures are made with adults in mind providing easy passage and bypass areas for them to comfortably explore and enjoy with their kids. We have no age restrictions and we highly recommend that adults join their kids especially when the younger ones wish to explore and play in the big kid structures. Our only rules are that socks must be wore at all times when walking on the foam matted flooring or playing in the structures and no food or drink is allowed within the play areas, including the toddler area.
We do not provide matching themed decorations. We have solid colored tablecloths and plates/cups in a variety of colors to match your theme. We do have a small selection of both generic and themed birthday banners that past guest have donated which you are welcomed to use; however, we cannot guarantee there will be one to specifically match your selected theme.
Yes, you may bring in your own decorations to decorate the party room, but we do recommend keeping your decorations simple, easy to set up, and easy to take down (generally 10-15 minutes or less). There is a mounting cable with clips that stretches the length of the primary party wall which you may hang a banner or lightweight decorations from.
- Table and floor decorations must be free-standing.
- Decorations cannot be taped, pinned, tacked, or the like to the walls, tables, or counters.
- Helium balloons must have their own weight tied to the bottom to hold them down.
- Balloons may not be tied to the tables or mounting cable.
- Pinata's are only permitted if they have a pull string/ribbon bottom (no hitting of pinata’s with a stick/bat). Pinata’s cannot be hung from the rafters or mounting cable.
- Confetti and glitter are allowed.
- You may also place a free-standing sign and/or decoration immediately outside your party room door, however we ask that it is not too large that it blocks the passage of your guest and/or other customers.
Only the Big Kahuna (Deluxe) and Luau Parties come with food/drinks included in the price. Food options are not included in the Aloha Party however you may add drink options for purchase. If you wish to add food options please upgrade to the Luau or Big Kahuna (Deluxe) Party package.
Both the Big Kahuna (Deluxe) and the Luau Party packages will automatically include 2 large deep-dish single-topping pizzas (cheese or pepperoni) and a single choice of either lemonade, fruit punch, sprite, root beer, or coke for the kids (additional drink options including juice boxes and water are available for purchase). Each large deep-dish pizza provides 10 slices (ex. For a party of 10 children it will provide 2 slices per child). Additional pizza’s and drinks are included when your child guest count is expected to be more than 10 kids (ex. If you expect 20 children to be attending, your party package will include 4 large deep-dish single-topping pizzas, and two drink choices).In addition, the Big Kahuna (Deluxe) Party package would also include an ice cream cup for each child guest attending (1 year to 17 years old). You may add additional ice cream cups for your younger and older guest, and ice cream cups may also be added to the Luau Party Package (additional purchase will apply).
With your reservation you are permitted to bring in your own cake or cupcakes, don’t forget to bring your candles. No other outside food or drink is permitted; however, we do have additional food and/or drink options you may add (depending on your party package) for your guests if you would like. Additional food options include: specialty pizzas (like all meaty, veggie, supreme), large party salad, fruit tray, sandwich tray, juice boxes, or water bottles. You may also add any food or drink items that we sell at our concession stand.
Yes, if you wish, you may leave a tip for your party host(s). We normally will ask at the end of your party when you are closing out your bill if you would like to leave a tip for your party host(s). You may add it to your final bill or if you prefer you may leave them a cash tip. Like a waiter in a restaurant, our party hosts are paid an hourly wage, but many of our guest do extend a gratuity (tip) for their party host(s) to thank them for their hard work and excellent service. They greatly appreciate it and your gratuities provide that boost of confidence that they are doing a good job and helped to make your party experience a happy one.The amount you choose to leave as a gratuity is completely up to you, we will never pressure you or demand that you provide a gratuity. As such it is hard to provide guidance on what is considered a reasonable tip amount, it is completely up to you. Some guest may tip based on a percentage of the final bill (ex. 10-20%), some may tip a flat amount (ex. $20 -$50), and other guest may choose to base their gratuity on the number of hosts required to assist with their party. When there is more than one party host attending to your party the party hosts will split any gratuity provided equally (50/50 split) unless you direct us otherwise. We understand that in some instances you may feel that one host went above and beyond and you may prefer to show your appreciation accordingly. Feel free to let us know your preference at close out and we will split your gratuity accordingly.
You, or your hired decorator, may arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before the start of your party time to bring in your cake/cupcakes and/or any party decorations. Because there is limited time between parties to clean and prepare the rooms for the next incoming families, we cannot facilitate more than 15 minutes before your party time slot. If you plan on bringing in decorations or will have a hired decorator coming in to decorate the party room, all decorations must adhere to our decorating requirements and we recommend keeping them simple, preassembled, easy to set up, and easy to take down (generally 10-15 minutes or less both before and after your party time).
Your dedicated party host will be present to assist with putting out any decorations you may have so that you may return to the front to receive your guest as they begin to arrive.
If your guest(s) arrive before you have checked in (no more than 15 minutes before your party time) they will be asked to wait until you have arrived. Depending on how early your guest(s) have arrived before your party (ex. 30 minutes or more) they may elect to pay the normal admission rate to play prior to your party starting. They may join your party once the party starts, however they would not receive a refund for their early admission paid.
There is some storage available in the cabinets and under the cake table that you may store any decoration boxes/bags, cake/cupcake boxes, or personal items until the end of your party time. We do recommend that if you plan on leaving any valuable personal belongings (e.g., purses) in the room while you are out in the playground area that you store them in the cabinets under the counter; however, please note that Molokai’z Adventure Island is not responsible for any lost items during your visit but hopefully keeping those items out of sight will reduce any potential for malice by others passing by.
Most outside party entertainers and/or party vendors are allowed (e.g., Special character guest, clown, balloon artist, temporary tattoo artist, magician, etc.); however, Molokai’z Adventure Island does not permit face painters since the face paint rubs off as the children play in the structures and is difficult to get off the vinyl and padded surfaces. If you wish to hire a party entertainer or special party vendor please inquire with a party specialist at Molokai’z prior to booking your entertainer/vendor, as all entertainers and vendors must be preapproved before your party day; we do not want you to lose a booking deposit if the party entertainer/vendor is one that we cannot permit within Molokai’z.
Please also remember to allot ample time during your party for the party entertainer/vendor (ex. you may want to request your host to call everyone back to the party a little early in order to allot enough time for food, cake, and the entertainer’s/vendor’s activities).Note: Molokai’z does not have in-house party entertainers for hire.
There is no extra charge applied by Molokai’z if you wish to hire an outside party entertainer/vendor to attend your party nor will they be counted as a guest to your party. We do however ask that they abide by the same rules as all other guest. If pictures will be taken with the entertainer by or within the structures we ask that they remove any shoes and wear socks (or hospital foot covers for larger full costume characters); no bare feet and no panty hose/stockings permitted on the foam matted flooring or in the structures.Note: Molokai’z does not have in-house party entertainers for hire.
During your 2-hour party reservation the 1st hour will consist of playtime and/or arcade time for you and all your guest. The 2nd hour of the party is held back in your private party room were you and your guest will enjoy food and party celebrations. Your party host will make an announcement over the PA system when it’s time to call all your guest back to the party room. You will have access to your private party room during the entire 2-hours of your party, so your guests are welcomed to sit there as well if they wish to be away from all the children and noises out in the playground/arcade.
At Molokai’z Adventure Island we will take care of taking down decorations, packing up leftover food/drinks, loading up presents, and cleaning the room at the end of your party. We kindly ask that all your guest exit the party room on time at the end of your 2-hour party reservation and relocate out to the playground/arcade areas. Your guests are more than welcomed to stay and play longer at Molokai’z if they choose, however the host will need to promptly begin cleaning your party room at the end of your reservation in order to get the space ready for the next family coming in. We also kindly ask that your guests remove all personal belongings, including shoes.Your host will inquire with you on any decorations and leftover food/drinks you would like to keep and then will assist with taking down all decorations and packing any leftover. Your host will load everything to carts, including the presents, and will assist with bringing everything out to your vehicle.
If you wish to extend the time for your private party room beyond the 2-hour duration, you will need to reserve the following time slot available for your room. Example, if you reserve the 12pm to 2pm party reservation and would like extended time for you and your guest, you would also need to reserve the 3pm to 5pm time slot, as that would be the next party time held for that room. This would extend your party time within the private party room for up to three additional hours for your use.
Because of our party rotation schedule, it is not feasible to reserve additional time in advance on an hourly increment. However, should there be a vacancy in the reservations following yours that day (i.e., no party reservation for your room following your party), then management can provide you with additional time within your party room at a reduced cost per hour. Please inquire with a manager for additional information on adding time to your party duration.
In general, your remaining balance is paid at the end of your party so that we can make any adjustments based on your guest count and any add-on items made the day of the party. You may of course pay towards your remaining balance at any time following your initial deposit payment. However, we recommend that any prepayments do not exceed the baseline costs for your party package or added food. That way a refund would not be required if you are expecting 15 kids to attend the party and only 10 kids arrive. We will always keep your bill open during your party so you may add tokens, drinks, etc. easily without having to pay separately. This will also allow us to make any adjustments based on your final guest count so that you are never overcharged for guests that were not able to attend the party.
Absolutely! You can add these items to your party when making a reservation online or at Molokai’z, or any time after up to the day of your party. When making your reservation online the system will prompt you for options to add on food and/or drink options along with other items such as arcade tokens and goodie bags. Just pick what suits your needs. Don’t worry if you are unsure on adding any of these items at the time you make your reservation, you can always add them on later if you wish.
Loose confetti is not permitted and pinatas are not permitted unless they are the type with the pull string/ribbon bottoms (due to safety concerns no pinatas are allowed that require hitting with sticks/bats to break open). We also kindly ask that decorations are family friendly and would not be considered obscene by others (it hasn’t happened yet but we felt it might be worth mentioning all the same).You may not tape, pin, glue, tack, or the like any decorations to the walls, tables, counters, or doors. There is a mounting cable with clips on the primary wall of each party room that you are welcome to hang lightweight decorations, banner, and/or balloons however we ask that nothing is tied or taped to the mounting cable. Table and floor decorations must be free-standing. And all helium balloons must have a weight attached at the bottom and are not allowed to be tied or taped to the tables and counters. We also recommend that you have any balloons prefilled before you arrive. Please do not bring in helium tanks.
We highly encourage parents to stay with their children when coming to Molokai’z Adventure Island both for safety reasons and overall family fun spent together. However, if parents elect to drop-off their children during the party the hosting family will be responsible for those children until their parents arrive to pick them up. Their parents will still need to complete a waiver if they do not already have one on file. Except for special program events such as Parent Night Out events, Molokai’z Adventure Island is not a drop-off facility, we do not provide supervision of children in absence of their parents and cannot guarantee their well-being or where-abouts.
Absolutely. A party specialist will call you approximately 5-7 days before your party to discuss your food/drink selections included in the party and inquire if you would like to add any other food/drink options. Because the pizzas are supplied by Jet’s Pizza of San Antonio, we will need to have your selections determined no later than 3 days before your party date. If it lands up that you want to add an extra pizza or other food item, we request a minimum of 24 hour notice.
